How can I find a good doctor for my daughter's bowed legs?

How do I go about finding a highly recommended pediatric orthopedist in the NY/NJ area. I have gone to two doctors already and I want to get another opinion. Is there a listing of doctors that have good credentials and a good reputation. I want to find a doctor that communicates well, has great experience and knows of and practices modern treatments.|||NJ group with a renowned doctor

http://www.pediatric-orthopedics.com/|||google the search. search for the specific need you want. the more detailed you can be the better.

What doctor should check for hormone imbalance?

I need to go to a doctor and she should be what a gynecologist?|||Yes a gynecologist or a family practice or internal medicine dr can also do the same testing, but the gyno is probably the best bet, unless you have other things going on not related to being a woman the the general practice may be best for you.|||The best one is an Endocrinologist (hormonal disorder specialist), but your GP and Gyn can do it too.

What characteristics would a doctor at a Psychiatric Hospital have or need?

I'm playing a doctor at a psychiatric hospital in a play, and my character has no description whatsoever in the script, so I'm building it on my own. First I wanted to find out more about what my character's traits would be because of their profession. What kind of characteristics, like attitude, mood, things like that, would a doctor working at a Psychiatric hospital have?

Also, in the play it is a very upscale expensive Psychiatric Hospital, if that would make any difference.|||I worked in a psyche hospital

our doctors were always calm, never rattled, never alarmed when a patient went off. often annoyed or frustrated

they were never happy go lucky, or talkative or funny witty or engaging. They would listen alot -like at lunch, but rarely add to the conversation

When does Medicare require the referring doctor's name on electronically filed claims?

I've run into problems when calling referring doctors' offices for their NPI numbers, which are necessary if the referring doctor's name is on the claim. Is the name of the referring doctor ALWAYS necessary on electronically-filed Medicare claims? Some offices don't even know what one is!|||The referring doctor must be listed when the services preformed are because of a referral.

Example: A primary doctor referred a patient to 10 Physical Therapy sessions for low back pain. An NPI and Referring Doc name must be listed.

If the same patient goes to the Physical Therapist and requests treatment himself because his back hurts, no NPI is needed.

Effective January 1, 1992, a physician or supplier that bills Medicare for a service or item must show the name and UPIN (or NPI) of the ordering/referring physician on the claim form, if that service or item was the result of an order or referral from a physician. If the ordering physician is also the performing physician, the physician must enter his/her name and assigned UPIN as the ordering physician. If the ordering/referring physician is not assigned a UPIN, the biller may use a surrogate UPIN, e.g., until an application for a UPIN is processed and a UPIN assigned. (See 搂14.9.2.)

You can search the NPI directory and get the numbers yourself (most of the time) on this site: https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/NPPES/NPIRegis鈥?/a>|||NO|||Yes it is necessary. If you need an NPI number you can go to the NPI registry. If there is a medical provider that has not registered for one, you will have trouble so you may want to steer clear of using their services. Most offices have you sign a financial responsibility form stating you will be responsible for what is not covered by insurance.

Can I sue a doctor for telling my family about my uncles terminal illness?

My uncle has had an illness for many years, he elected to keep it a secret, and did for many years. However a few years ago his doctor accidentally informed a few of his family members in full detail about his illness. This has caused an enormous amount of embarrassment and hard ship for several people in his family including my mother, three brothers, my self, and most especially, my uncle. Would the doctor responsible be required to pay restitution for the damage his mistake caused?|||You can't sue anybody as it was not your health information that was released.

Second, the release of the information may have been necessary for treatment choices for the patient

And please explain how this caused you or anybody else a hardship? If nobody outside the family knows about his HIV then all it did was circle around the family and nobody outside the family knows.

I am saying HIV because this is the only disease that would make him keep it to himself, and would cause family members to be shocked, and you didn't mention a wife.

A cancer is not a disease that people hide and it would have shown itself already and that is not a disease that people get embarrassed about.

But nobody can sue the doctor expect him and even then depending on the situation there is probably no lawsuit|||What damage did you suffer from this? It's not private information about you, so what reason do you have to sue the doctor? The only one that might have a case is your uncle, and only him. But he probably will have better results if he just reported it to the head of the clinic/hospital the doctor works for.

If he wishes to pursue it further, then he needs to contact a lawyer. But you have nothing to do with the case, other than maybe being a witness for him.|||Maybe you should celebrate your uncles life so he doesn't die knowing the fact that his illness has caused such an embarrassment for you. i feel sorry for you, being so embarrassed. but it's okay, you're uncle is just slowly dying.

look at the big picture, douche. you're just looking for money, i bet when your uncle dies you'll be crying poor mouth then too.

some advice, smoke heavily or play with asbestos and maybe with a terminal illness you'll understand how much of a selfish embarrassment YOU are!!

i really hope you have a vasectomy/hysterectomy, what will the world come to with your offspring?!|||First of all, you can't sue for anything as you have no standing. Second, what kind of damages did anybody suffer as a result of knowing this information? Embarrassment, sure, I can see that but hardship? What kind of hardship? Knock it off.|||Take your case to 3 or 4 local lawyers. If they all laugh you out of their offices (and they certainly should) you will have your answer.

What are the requirements needed to be a doctor in China?

I am planning to do a medical degree in New Zealand. I can speak and write fluent Chinese (mandarin). However, I do not know what is required to be a doctor in China, eg. Junior House Doctor, experience, licences, policy on foreign doctors in China etc. Can someone please tell me what are the requirements as I want to be able to get a job as a doctor in China as soon as I finish my degree (no matter if it is only an entry position of medicine).|||You should look into Law of the Peoples Republic of China on Medical Practitioners, you need to take the exams in order to obtain the Practicing Physician Qualification Certificate in China.

It seems that this is a common procedure in Europe, but here in the States most doctors don't perform it often and just leap to full circumcisions for frenulum problems. Any referral to a reliable doctor or urologist would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.|||Contact Doctors Opposing Circumcision, or DOC, just type it in on your browser.

They will treat a problem with the foreskin, and won't try to circumcise you, which is totally unnecessary and an abnormal and unnatural mutilation of the penis.

DOC has a list of doctors in various areas.

Circumcision is a hoax and a fraud.

How to compensate a doctor for endorsing a product?

We are a herbal supplement company. We have a doctor who agreed to endorse the product. We agreed to pay a % of sales revenue. We believe we will make about 20 - 30K in sales during the first month. Can anyone tell us what % may be appropriate for the doctor? We will use his photo and bio data online for e-commerce sales alone. |||Paying a doctor for an endorsement could work against you. Please read the information from the FTC regarding 'Testimonials" or "Expert Advice" in advertising.

According to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) a doctor's (or any expert's) willingness to endorse a product may not be sufficient - the claims must be backed up by material evidence. As well, if you are paying the doctor a commission he would be considered an employee and you must disclose in your advertisement that he is receiving payment for his endorsement.

Are there any rules on how endorsements may be used in ads?

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/business鈥?/a>

To give an expert endorsement, a person must have sufficient qualifications to be considered an expert in the field. But just being an expert isn't enough. Expert endorsements must be supported by an actual evaluation, examination, or testing of the product that other experts in the field normally would conduct to support the conclusions in the endorsement.

Advertisers also must disclose any material connection between a person endorsing a product and the company selling the product. A "material connection" is defined as a relationship that might affect the weight or credibility of the endorsement. For example, if an endorser is an employee or relative of the advertiser, that fact must be disclosed because it is relevant to how much weight a consumer would give to the endorsement. Similarly, an advertiser must disclose if a consumer has been paid for giving an endorsement.

What Questions does the Doctor Ask you when you visit regarding late periods?

It's been 10 weeks since my last period.

I have been having them for 3 years.

Mum wants to take me to the doctor but im nervous about the types of questions the doctor will ask while my mum is there.

I've never had sex so it's not that question im worried about

Something else...

Sorry if this question is pretty vague

Im just embarassed.|||well the doctor will ask many of questions

1. how much exercise have you been doing? ( because excrise makes periods come late and you might skip it)

2. your diet ( see what you eat it can make the period came late)

3. if your had sex( periods don't come if your pregnant)

4. the doctor will ask about your period cycle

5. he will ask if your on any medication ( this can make a period delay)

6. if you on the pill( because the pill can slow down the period and the blood flow in the period)

7. and of course he will ask if theres any abnormal pains or feelings near your vagina

but your it might just come late just give it another week i wouldn't worry because if you haven't had sex then i guess theres nothing major to worry about|||uh they usually jsut ask when the last time u had it was, was it heavy or light, and how long it lasted, and are they regular usually, and have u been dealing with stess.. thats it, nothing to be too embarrassed about :)|||You dont need to have your mum with you, its your choice!

My sixteenth birthday is tomorrow and I have a complete lack of body hair and I've grown about 2 inches since ninth grade. How old till a doctor does not have to report toyour parents?

How old do you have to be till the doctor does not have to tell your parents what is wrong with you and what you are doing at the doctor's office?|||This gets tricky--it depends on what state you live in, what medical procedures you are seeking, and how you will pay for the office visit.

If your parents have insurance and you use their insurance card to pay for the doctors visit then they will get a "explanation of benefits" letter from the ins. company and it's usually pretty detailed about what tests and procedures were done.

Basically, if you just have something to discuss with your doc and your parents aren't in the room, and no further procedures need to be done, then just state that you want it to remain confidential and they won't tell your parents.

If it's about birth control then you can go into any Planned Parenthood and your parents don't have to know.

How do I find an excellent doctor for depression?

I've had depression for several years and have tried 4 different doctors as well as a couple of therapists. I've been on many different medications and had ECT treatments in the past, but nothing really seems to change for me.

It's getting to the point where I find it hard to go on. I feel that someone (a doctor) REALLY needs to focus on me and make me better. My depression is ruining my life, and my wife's. All the doctors so far seem to just say "Oh that didn't work, hmmm try this". I don't think they really understand what they are doing.

I need to see a true expert, can anyone help?|||I know it seems difficult, but each person has a different chemical imbalance and will react differently to the various medications. Medicating a depressed person is trial and error. You need to take an active role in your own treatment and keep trying things until you find something that works. What doctor has the best success rate for fertility treatments for women over 42 using their own eggs?

I'm looking for the best fertility practice or doctor for women over 42 without using donor eggs. Thanks in advance.|||You're a field surgeon. Once you're a doctor, if you apply to the military the chances are you will get hired, depending on how well you did.

I think that applying to the military would definitely incur some combat training or other training in the field that you wouldn't have been taught in medschool. But, as a doctor, its not difficult to be trained, which you will be by the military, in the art of field medicine.

Not much different, you will be taught to live and work in strained conditions I would think.

What does a doctor do when you check in for being constipated?

If you're constipated and go to see a doctor about it, what kind of procedures will the doctor do to check you out? Do they have to stick anything up your rectum?|||No rectal inspection is usually needed. They will ask about diet to see if diet is the cause. But before you go try laxatives. First try the fiber laxatives--they're gentle but slow. The ones that dissolve in water are good. For a real blast job, take magnesium citrate, a liquid usually on the bottom shelf of the laxative section. It's very powerful, so be prepared to spend some time in the bathroom--take a phone and a book to read. Take two bottles (they're small) about 15 minutes apart, and you had better be prepared in advance--they'll work fast. And ask the pharmacist if you have the right stuff. What will a doctor do when notified of a patients prescription and other drug abuse?

My sister is heavily addicted to her prescription drugs (fentanyl patch, xanax, and other assorted pain pills) along with bathsalts and meth. I called her doctor and informed them of her addiction because I am worried about the drugs interacting with each other. Does the doctor have to stop prescribing that stuff once informed of a problem or did I waste my breath informing them?|||A doctor will continue to prescribe those medications to your sister, unless informed by HER that she has a problem, or if there are interactions. Most often, the pharmacist is the one who will check for interactions, which can be dangerous if she is using different pharmacies. My uncle passed away because he took two medications that interacted badly and since he got them from two different pharmacies, the interaction was missed.

If a drug addict goes to the ER and complains of pain, by law, they must treat the pain. Even though they are giving him what he wants, its their duty. Intralesional injections (means injection inside the wart) or applications of some chemotherapy medicines do help.

Leave on for another 3-4 days. Check again. If it is not gone, you should see it shrinking. repeat procedure. I have been there and done that. You have to figure out what it is first that is destroying your sex drive. If your on medication like birth control or anti-depressants that is something to think about and do research on. Other then that it could just be stress, maybe the kids, really anything that makes your life stressful can do this and lower the libido.

One thing I tried that seemed to work while I was doing it was exercising. I just felt sexier doing it which kind of boosted my libido. However it wasn't the best solution for me. My friend told me about these herbal enhancers that are made from natural herbs and don't cause any side effects besides having wild sex. She said it's the female version of viagra. I had to find out.

I would always have a weak orgasm too (if I had one at all), which after trying this sex enhancer, it boosted them tremendously. I don't get multiple orgasms but I've had plenty since being on these herbs. It's seriously like the best vibrator ride you've ever experienced. These things make me horny all the time, some days I don't even take them because the urge is just too strong.

Don't try out single herbs because they don't do it like the blend of herbs these scientists and researchers pick out. I've tried a couple of them by itself and they did crap. The stuff that I'm on is called Hersolution, at the time I saved money on it at herenhancement.com . Make sure you get the 3 month supply that way you fall under the guarantee/return policy if the herbs don't work for you, you can return them with no questions ask. I bet they will work though and you won't have any problems. Also if your on medication of any sort, check out the gel because if your like me, you wouldn't want to swallow any thing that might react with the medications your already on.

Well have a good day and hopefully you solved your problem.

What type of doctor should I see: dermatologist or regular?

I recently noticed a bump underneath my chin. There is no protusion. Perhaps it's a swollen lymph node? I've also been having a lot of acne lately and I've read that acne may also cause such a bump. What kind of doctor should I see: a dernatologist, my regular doctor, or some other kind?|||go to a regular doctor first they will recommend dermatologist if necessary |||regular doctor first and if need be he can refer you.

What if your doctor is not affiliated with a hospital?

If you go to a hospital where your primary doctor does not practice, what happens? Do they assign you a temporary doctor?|||Yes. You will be assigned a 'hospitalist' which is generally a well versed M.D. that takes responsibility for many patients at once on a general level. Their goal is to coordinate all specialists and keep things flowing smoothly between all admitted patients of theirs. They will visit the patient most days,.. and usually have a P.A., and a great deal of nurses they write primary orders for.

Your doctor can still come to you in the hospital if he so wishes -- even though it is out of his jurisdiction, he can still confer with your doctor their if there are any additional treatment concerns. An M.D. is and M.D. -- Think of it like this,.. two police officers have a similar job,.. however they generally won't operate in each others precincts.. though if one does come into another precinct they will be treated as what they are qualified to do.

Alot of doctors have multiple hospitals they operate out of .. but you raise a valid question/concern. Your doctor won't be able to 'admit' or 'discharge' or do anything that operates within that hospitals procedures if he isn't affiliated.. though, again, if it is still somewhat local, your doctor is welcome and encouraged to come assist with your care.

Providing your past medical history and so forth can be invaluable.|||Yes. The traditional American system is that you'll be assigned a physician of the appropriate specialty. That's part of being "on call" for the physicians. More and more hospitals are hiring hospitalists for the purpose, as the US moves towards something more like the British system, in which the tradition is that GP's don't have a hospital practice, leaving it all to the consultants.

What type of doctor should I visit for arm numbness most likely the result of repetitive motion at work?

I am a baker and stress my arms daily with repetitive motion. Lately I've been having alternating pain and numbness in my wrist, hands, and shoulders. I don't have health insurance, so I don't want to pay several office visit fees going to the wrong type of doctor. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on and what type of doctor I should see?|||You need to see a Neurologist, they deal with numbness in the extremities and treat headaches. You may have carpal tunnel or/and a bad rotator cuff. An Orthopedist can diagnose a bad rotator cuff, I'm not sure if a Neurologist can or not. So you may have to see 2 Doctors since it may be 2 different problems.|||Physical Therapist. They will prescribe specific "braces" or orthopedic wrist, or arm, or hand supports you can wear during your work which will not interfere with the performance of your duties.

They will also give you exercises you can do at home to relax and strengthen specific muscles, and possibly suggest other ways to stand or move which may alleviate some of the strain.|||Go to GP surgery to start he/she will be able to diagnose and tell you|||Ye, a neurologist. I've seen 1 for the same thing

When does the doctor usually start talking about/setting a date for induction?

I'm due today and I have a doctors appointment in 2 days. So if I don't have the baby before my appointment would the doctor set a date for induction or do you think it would be my next appointment after? Not that I'm like rushing induction or anything lol I would much rather go when the baby is ready but I'm just curious.|||That depends on the doctor. Some what to do it asap and others feel it is best to wait and see if baby will come on its own. If you are not in a hurry you can always tell the doctor you want to wait until 41 or 42 weeks to talk about inducing.|||im pretty sure they will give you a date at your appointment for around 2 weeks overdue And if you go before even better. good luck|||I live in NY and at my Womens Health Clinic it was always if you were 1 week overdue. Which I was for my first child and I was early with my second.|||they should be talk about induction on you app come up good luck|||With my first, I had an appointment on my due date and they said that if I didn't have my baby before my next appointment (which was exactly a week) then I would get admitted either that night or the next morning to be induced (it depended on if there were a lot of women in labor and delivery at that time or not). All docs are different. Some don't want to induce until 2 weeks after your due date.|||Many OB doctors don't like to wait much longer than 41-42 wks because of the risk to the fetus. The longer the baby stays in your womb the older the placenta gets. When the placenta starts getting old it doesn't deliver the same amount of nutrients and oxygen as it did before and can eventually become harmful to your baby. I would say that your doctor will be discussing it with you during your doctors appt.|||It depends on the circumstances.

I went over with my secon baby and at 41.5 weeks he scheduled me for an induction at 42 weeks. I went on my own the day before.|||I THINK YOU WILL DISCUSS THIS IN 2DAYS I BELIEVE HE WILL SET YOUR INDUCTION A WEEK FROM NOW OR IF YOUR BABY DECIDES TO COME BEFORE THEN ITS BEFORE AT LEAST THATS WHAT HAPPEN TO MY NEIGHBOR THEY SET HER UP FOR TH FOLLOWING WEEK OR IF THE BABY CAME OUT FIRST.|||When I was 40 weeks and still going it was discussed. It was up to me to have it done or not. If I wanted to wait it out at 41 weeks they would have done an ultrasound to check the fluid around the baby to make sure it was okay to continue being pregnant. I had him at 40 weeks and 5 days. He decided to come on his own.

What is the earliest your doctor put your baby on rice cereal?

I am just curious. I have a seven-week-old who (in my opinion) drinks way too much formula: 7-8 oz/feeding and sometimes still seems to want more. He doesn't spit up very much, but he also doesn't have a lot of bowl movements like other newborns I know. He has a doctor's appointment soon and I am wondering if the doctor won't suggest adding rice cereal to his formula. Have any of you been doctor-ordered to add cereal to your baby's formula at such a young age?|||If my doctor had suggested baby food including rice cereal before 4 months I would have fired them... oh wait that's why I fired the 3rd doctor.

I wouldn't take accounting advice from my mechanic and I wouldn't take nutritional info from a doctor with ZERO training and all the info they bother to read comes from the baby food industry.

Dear Dad,

Yes, it is possible to overfeed a four-week-old infant since it's easy to misinterpret a baby's hunger and satiety (fullness) signals. When full, babies will stop sucking, turn their heads or push the nipple out of their mouths as a signal. Babies who are overfed often are uncomfortable and irritable. More importantly, they sometimes loose the ability to recognize when they are hungry. Parents will want to start out from the beginning to allow their baby to signal hunger and have it responded to appropriately.

# The maximal amount of formula recommended per day is 32 ounces (1 liter).

# Overfeeding can cause vomiting, diarrhea or excessive weight gain.

[...]

# The average amount of formula (in ounces) that babies take per feeding usually equals the baby's weight (in pounds) divided in half (or equal to the weight in kg).

# The average ounces of formula the baby takes in 24 hours is the baby's weight in pounds multiplied by 2 (or kg multiplied by 4).

# A baby's appetite varies throughout the day. If the infant stops feeding or loses interest, the feeding should be stopped.

Most children seemed to thrive. A small number of children, though, did not tolerate the addition, because their sucking and swallowing actions were not yet fully coordinated. They inhaled small amounts of the rice cereal into their lungs, which led to pulmonary problems.

I鈥檓 much more concerned about a subtler issue. Babies are born with a wonderful mechanism for knowing how much food they need. During the early months, they take their cues from the volume of what they drink. Adding cereal derails this mechanism. It forces them to take in deceptively large amounts of calories. It teaches them to overeat.

By starting with a spoon, resting between bites, and stopping when your child lets you know he鈥檚 full, you will be laying an excellent foundation for good eating habits throughout his life.

A major study looking for the causes of obesity found that short-circuiting young children鈥檚 self-regulation of how much they eat is a major cause of later obesity.1 Cereal in the bottle does just that.

Babies that are fed this way may appear to be unaffected 鈥?but those few weeks of added convenience may result in a lifetime of struggles with weight. This common practice may have contributed to our being the most obese generation in history.

Why not cereal?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9646449/page鈥?/a>

Take rice cereal, for example. Under conventional American wisdom, it's the best first food. But Butte says iron-rich meat 鈥?often one of the last foods American parents introduce 鈥?would be a better choice.

Dr. David Ludwig of Children's Hospital Boston, a specialist in pediatric nutrition, says some studies suggest rice and other highly processed grain cereals actually could be among the worst foods for infants.

"These foods are in a certain sense no different from adding sugar to formula. They digest very rapidly in the body into sugar, raising blood sugar and insulin levels" and could contribute to later health problems, including obesity, he says.

The lack of variety in the American approach also could be a problem. Exposing infants to more foods may help them adapt to different foods later, which Ludwig says may be key to getting older children to eat healthier.

Cereal is not at all necessary, particularly the baby cereals. Regular (whole grain) oatmeal is more nutritious for your baby.

http://www.askdrsears.com/faq/ci2.asp

The truth is, there is nothing special about these foods that makes them better to start out with. Babies don't actually even need rice cereal

http://www.llli.org/llleaderweb/LV/LVDec鈥?/a>

Meat provides additional protein, zinc, B-vitamins, and other nutrients which may be in short supply when the decrease in breast milk occurs. A recent study from Sweden suggests that when infants are given substantial amounts of cereal, it may lead to low concentrations of zinc and reduced calcium absorption (Persson 1998). Dr. Nancy Krebs has shared preliminary results from a large infant growth study suggesting that breastfed infants who received pureed or strained meat as a primary weaning food beginning at four to five months, grow at a slightly faster rate. Dr. Krebs' premise is that inadequate protein or zinc from complementary foods may limit the growth of some breastfed infants during the weaning period. Both protein and zinc levels were consistently higher in the diets of the infants who received meat (Krebs 1998). Thus the custom of providing large amounts of cereal products and excluding meat products before seven months of age may not meet the nutritional needs of all breastfed infants.

Meat has also been recommended as an excellent source of iron in infancy. Heme iron (the form of iron found in meat) is better absorbed than iron from plant sources. In addition, the protein in meat helps the baby more easily absorb the iron from other foods. Two recent studies (Makrides 1998; Engelmann 1998) have examined iron status in breastfed infants who received meat earlier in the weaning period. These studies indicate that while there is not a measurable change in breastfed babies' iron stores when they receive an increased amount of meat (or iron), the levels of hemoglobin circulating in the blood stream do increase when babies receive meat as one of their first foods.

http://www.westonaprice.org/children/nou鈥?/a>

Finally, respect the tiny, still-developing digestive system of your infant. Babies have limited enzyme production, which is necessary for the digestion of foods. In fact, it takes up to 28 months, just around the time when molar teeth are fully developed, for the big-gun carbohydrate enzymes (namely amylase) to fully kick into gear. Foods like cereals, grains and breads are very challenging for little ones to digest. Thus, these foods should be some of the last to be introduced. (One carbohydrate enzyme a baby's small intestine does produce is lactase, for the digestion of lactose in milk.1)

[...]

Babies do produce functional enzymes (pepsin and proteolytic enzymes) and digestive juices (hydrochloric acid in the stomach) that work on proteins and fats.12 This makes perfect sense since the milk from a healthy mother has 50-60 percent of its energy as fat, which is critical for growth, energy and development.13 In addition, the cholesterol in human milk supplies an infant with close to six times the amount most adults consume from food.13 In some cultures, a new mother is encouraged to eat six to ten eggs a day and almost ten ounces of chicken and pork for at least a month after birth. This fat-rich diet ensures her breast milk will contain adequate healthy fats.14

Thus, a baby's earliest solid foods should be mostly animal foods since his digestive system, although immature, is better equipped to supply enzymes for digestion of fats and proteins rather than carbohydrates.1 This explains why current research is pointing to meat (including nutrient-dense organ meat) as being a nourishing early weaning food.

The results indicate that in a group of healthy, well growing 12-month-old Swedish infants one-quarter is iron-depleted, although iron deficiency anaemia is rare, and one-third may be zinc-depleted. The high cereal intake of Swedish infants from 6 months of age may have limited the bioavailability of both iron and zinc from the diet.

http://www.jpgn.org/pt/re/jpgn/abstract.鈥?/a>

Conclusions: These results confirm that meat as a complementary food for breast-fed infants can provide a rich source of dietary zinc that is well absorbed. The significant positive correlation between zinc intake and exchangeable zinc pool size suggests that increasing zinc intake positively affects metabolically available zinc.|||Usually doctors dont tell you anything about when to feed what. You kind of have to ask your own mother for advice or other mothers for advice. When your child cries a lot and seems hungry and when your child has teeth you can start giving rice cereal. 4-6 months old is usually ok.

|||Actually, my pediatrician does not recommend rice cereal at all....not as a first food and not as a medical cure for reflux or excessive hunger. The cure for hunger is feeding more breast milk/formula.

The soonest a baby should be started on solids is six months. What you are probably experiencing with your baby right now is a growth spurt, not a cue that he is ready for solids. Signs that a baby is ready for solids include loss of tongue thrust reflex, interest in your food, and sitting without support. I have never know even a very advanced baby to be sitting up at 7 weeks.|||I know years ago they use to do this. My mom had suggested it for my daughter, however, recent research says babies do not have the proper enzymes to digest cereal. They also don't suggest putting it in a bottle because baby could choke. You must have an old fashioned doctor.sometimes doctors opinions are just personal too. Maybe your baby is going through a growth spurt. I personally would not add cereal.

Best of luck.|||Doctor???

Honey the doctor never told me when to switch my kids or to start adding cereal that was a Mommy decision all the way. In fact I dont ever recall the doctor giving any kind of advice reguarding food for the kids. So, get a bottle with a larger nipple hole and make a "formula/cereal mix" make sure it can come out of the nipple but not to fast or too slow. See if your little one loikes it!

If memory serves me right, my girls were about this same age when I started adding some cereal into their diet.|||The only reason the Dr ordered cereal for my boys early was because they had really bad refulx so by 3 months i was suppose to introduce cereal. I tried putting it in the bottles and they would gag and choke on it so i started spoon feeding it and they did fine. They usually will only give the ok before 4 months if they aren't gaining weight (as the cereal makes them gain weight and fast) or if they have really bad reflux.|||There is a Similac formula called Sensitive RS. It already has rice starch in it and prevents spit-up. I would talk to your doctor about switching your son to this formula. It fills up his stomach more, as well. It's really too early to start your son on cereal, but a formula like the RS is safe because it's already partially broken down. Introducing rice cereal too soon could lead to allergies and other digestive problems. Trust me...I introduced it to my son at 4 months, and I'm so sorry that I didn't wait until 6 months. Good luck!|||My son was put on rice cereal at 4 weeks, but only because of Acid Reflux. I would not suggest adding it for any other reason but if your doctor thinks it's ok, then go ahead. I wouldn't say he is drinking way to much, Babies will not eat if they aren't hungry. Babies are constantly growing and constatnly need the formula to grow. If he seems to want more, give him more, A baby will stop when they are full.|||He is too young for rice cereal. And babies don't have a lot of bowel movments when they are very young. He is taking as much formula as HIS body needs and 7-8 ounces really isn't too much. Besides one does NOT put rice cereal into a bottle of formula. If you're going to FEED rice cereal you mix up a coupld of ounce and SPOON feed it. But as I said child is too young yet...digestive system isn't developed enough. Usually a doctor will recommend around 3 months.|||I would be very surprised if your doctor recommended that. It should just be milk only for 5/6 months. Your newborn is most likely just very hungry and still settling into a feeding routine. I think you are acting hastily very quickly. Lots of mothers feel that there babies eat alot - surely that is a good thing - it would be more concerning if they ate hardly anything.|||My son has been eating rice cereal in his bottle since he has been 1.5 months old. He would spit up constantly and the doctor said he had a slight case of reflux. The rice helped enormously and my son loves those bottles. I only give him 2 a day with the rice. You must keep him upright after they eat so they get it down alright.

Good Luck!!|||6 months. Starting solids any earlier puts your baby at risk for obesity, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and food allergies. So not worth the risk.

If your pedi recommends starting cereal now RUN away...he's obviously an idiot.|||You do what you think is best. My son will be 4 mos next week, but my dr told me it's ok to start giving him cereal now. I started giving cereal to my other 2 children when they were 4 mos and they were fine (now 14 and 4).|||I was told to put cereal in my daughter's formula when she was 2 weeks old, but she has acid reflux. He helps hold them over longer also. That's how I got my daughter to start sleeping through the night.|||i dont think a baby should generally start cereal until 6 mos. in the olden days they use to start cereal alot sooner but today it is not recommended and your baby might gain too much weight.|||my pediatrician started my baby at 5.5 months for practice and then told me to give her 1/8 cup twice daily as soon as she hit 6 months.|||My doctor doesn't dictate my childrens eating schedules...my children and I do that.

My kids showed signs of wanting solids at very different times. #1 started at a few months due to bad advice about solids helpng reflux. I know better now.

#2 got solids around 6 months when he gave the readiness signs.

#3 started at 4 months on veggies.

#4 started at 9 months and then only had them every few days as she really wansn't interested. She was BF on demand, so she got all her nutrition from me.

Docs cannot order you to beging solids. They can suggest, but throw it out the door. They are there to give medical advice, not parenting advice, and feeding solids before a year old is just that...parenting advice. Solids are not even needed until a year, as breastmilk or formula should be the main source of nutritio until then. ANY doc that tells the parent of a 7 week old that is gowin g into a growth spurt to give solids instead of the liquid nutrition it needs is a bad doc and should be replaced!

How can you see a doctor after a car accident that was Not Your Fault if you have no money to pay up front?

My good friend was recently involved in a hit and run while driving her mom's car and never went to the emergency room, but is now in pain and really needs to see a doctor. Her mom was insured with Geico, and they are asking for any amounts she spent on medical treatment because of the injury, but she has no medical insurance and cannot afford to see a doctor and pay for it up front. I am assuming that Geico is asking for her medical expenses due to the accident because they plan to reimburse her for some or all of them. How can she get medical treatment without any money to cover it up front though? She does not need to go to the emergency room, just to see a doctor to get checked out because she is really in pain that will not go away.|||Insurance will REIMBURSE you for money you spend on necessary medical expenses. It isn't the insurance company's fault that your good friend doesn't have medical insurance, but in reality it's not a good idea to use your medical for that type of thing even if you have it. How does a doctor feel a uterus for how far pregnant a woman is?

My doctor felt my uterus last night, and said it was the normal size for how far along I am (14 weeks). I was just wondering if doctors can actually tell a difference between 14 weeks and 13 weeks etc. Thanks!|||When I was pregnant with my son who's now 3 years old, my doctor felt my uterus by pressing down on my abdomon with one hand and pressing up inside my vagina. He told me I was about 12 weeks and I even told me where the baby had implanted!!! He drew a picture of what he felt. It looked like a lima bean. *base on my studies.. not all women are "gifted" with hymens.. i dunno but some women really dont have them..|||they don't check if men are virgins. An uncircumcised man's penis is usually retracted by their parents to clean them when they are babies because the foreskin is kind of attached when they're born. The only way to find out is to ask him and hope that he is being honest. Guys like to brag about our conquest so if you still doubt ask his friends|||They don't.

Also, if they were to check a female they'd probably be jailed for sexual assault and lose their right to practise medicine, unless they were checking because they suspected abuse.|||By asking. There are no physical signs whatsoever.

In any case - the hymen can be broken by a large variety of activities. Horse-riding is very common.|||By blowing on the head of the penis with air. You can try this at home as well, best checked by a female doctor which have better eyesight in these cases.|||ASK!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont think yu can tell if a dude vrgin or not.\\

i dnt think even a dotor can 100% tell if a girl a virgin or not.

Its not possible.|||no possibility to observe such, just you can ask the one whom you are caring for!|||a virgin in the anal cavity?|||The mount dismount technique of course.lol. IDK. there is no such thing. I am going to research this. I smell lucrative.lol|||They ask and hope you are honest.|||i'm sure it can be done

How much money does a successful medical doctor make in Egypt?

I live in the US and it seems that every Egyptian I meet is obsessed with doctors (or engineers). Why does everyone in Egypt have to be either a doctor or engineer? How much money does a successful doctor (or engineer) make in a year?

I'm Egyptian myself and I don't understand why doctors especially are put on such a high pedestal by Egyptians.|||Not necessarily wok in Egypt, lots of doctors including my parents don't mind traveling to neighboring countries especially Ksa ( nearest and looks way like home ) and make up even better money, Gynecologists earn 20 - 30 k monthly,, Cardiologists and neurologists can earn 50k a month.|||the income in Egypt is different than the USA, and the public perception for a proffession also is different.

As a figure or ceiling that important is to stasify your family needs and live in high standard and this is not related to a specific profession.

you can find a doctor with very low income and another with a high income; the issue could not be classified according to profession and ceiling to differentiate between sucess and failure.|||Doctors and engineers don't make that much in Egypt. I work in a construction company and the starting salary for engineers is quite low compared to that of sales people, marketeers, HR, etc. Only when an engineer becomes a project manager do they make good money, and that usually takes them 15 years.

As for doctors, they make very little money as doctors, especially if they work in the universities or hospitals. I know because my husband comes from a family of doctors. Some doctors of course have their private clinics and are very well known - but that is not the norm.

Of course there are loads of exceptions to the rule, especially in a country with over 80 million people.

The obsession with doctors and engineers is linked to prestige. Egyptians find pride when their son or daughter is called Doctor or "Bashmohandes/Bashmohandesa" which translates to "engineer".|||well my friend who is cosmetic surgeon ,, his clink makes between 2000$ -3000$ ,,,believe it or not ,,,(he is very famous and sometimes a day he makes even 4000$-check how much hair implant for a male-work for a day 6-8 h ,, and you will know how much could a good doctor does /day)-In Europe they make the double or even more,,,, the nice thing about a doctor and an engineer in Egypt ,,, with some addition little studies he can work wherever, in any country ,, not like a lawyer as an example..

BTW,,, I live in Europe and Both are considered high class as well in all the countries,,,,How do you see doctors in The USA,,, I lived 4 years there and I know,,,,

@Laura : In the Q he asked about a successful medical doctor !!!|||about being obsessed with doctors (or engineers) that is their retarded culture

'''''successful'''' doctors make a lot of money ,,cuz here in egypt people want to go to the ''best

doctor ''in egypt...the medical system here is different and gives u access to the doc u want....if can pay for it!!! :(

if u want figures,,some i know just had a mastectomy for 15000le that is the doctors fees only excluding hospital stay etc,

the usual successful doc fee for a clinic visit ranges from 100 to 150 le

but some successful docs take 300le and if immediate visit 500le !!!! (the old ones))

but the whole point is out of the thousands of graduates only 10 are successful !!!!|||Oh yes..they are obsessed with them! My father is Egyptian and he is forcing me to become a doctor. They believe doctors have 'the life'. The money, luxury to do what they want, power.

I'm not sure how much they make, it's not as much as in the U.S but I've been to Egypt and they all live in the very rich, cleaner parts of the city. So they are considered to be the high class.|||Doctors are one of the most highest rates all over the world specially in the USA and Canada the minimum for just a basic family doctor in Canada and the USA is $150 for 15 minutes

so what you really don't understand|||lol because they make more mony !!

my dad is a professor of mechanical engineering,he is making 72,000 $ a year

How can the doctor tell the difference between a breast cyst and a tumor?

My mom's been having pain in her breasts for a long time, and about six months ago a big red bulge showed up on her breast.

The doctor dismissed it as a cyst and didn't do anything.

The redness disappeared, but last week she noticed a lump in her breast, and the doctor finally admitted that it was a little off.

She's been referred to a clinic for a mammogram, but I'm still curious as to how they can tell.

I'm kind of worried.|||I'm a doctor. Generally, we can tell based on a physical exam. That is the key. However, despite a relatively normal feeling cyst, some women may go on to develop cancer. Another important factor is the interview with your mom. For instance, if the size and pain vary with her menstrual cycle, or with diet (caffeine, smoking makes it worse)...then it is most likely a cyst (called a fibrocystic disease), however if it is persistent, with persistent increase in size and changes on the skin (redness, retracting skin) then it is exhibiting features that would be more concerning. In that case, I generally get an ultrasound of the breast (in a younger woman b/c it's a better test) and in an older woman I get a mammogram.

You should just wait until you get the results of the test back. I wish your mom the best!|||I'm not a doctor, but any doctor who dismisses things that can be this serious should be fired. So first get a new doctor.

Second, I got a nodule (lump/growth/ however you want to call it) on my thyroid. Because it could have been a tumor, I first got a sonogram. It only confirmed the lump, which my doc had felt during an exam. Then he did something with a needle, I forgot what it's called, to get cells from my lump and checked the blood and other things he extracted for cancer.

The mammogram should help them know what's going on. If not, they can do further testing. Don't worry, they will know. But you and your mom need to be active patients and insist until you get what you want.

What is the difference between a trauma doctor and an ER doctor?

What is the difference between a Trauma doctor and an ER doctor ? And how long does it take to become these types of doctors?|||Trauma is damage to the body caused by an outside force. As opposed to medical, which are problems with the body caused by an inside source. Sometimes these things overlap, normally that's a safe/simplified way to look at it.

Knowing that. An ER doctor is a doctor that is in the ER ward. Which is where ambulances deliver patients too. They deal with the patients that come into the hospital complaining of mostly anything.

Should these patient need immediate care in a life threatening sittuation, what would usually be consider a "load and go" by EMS, then they are taken past the ER and straight to the Trauma ward. At which point the doctors there will handle the patient.|||Trauma is more seriously and typically life threatening. There are far fewer trauma centers than ER's in the country. ER is typically available in every hospital, but Trauma centers aren't very common. I hope this helps.|||ER doctors work in ER Emergency Rooms and Trauma Docs usually have more expertise in their respective medical concentrations i know I've laid quite a few hott Doc's in the elevator

What kind of doctor would I take my son to for treatment of bedwetting?

I plan to take my 7-year-old to a doctor at Children's Hospital for help with bedwetting. What kind of doctor should I take him to?|||A pediatric urologist. You may need a referal from your pediatrician but only if your insurance requires one. I am taking my son to a pediatric urologist in a couple weeks for the same issue but my son who is 8 also has some daytime issues so we think there might be something medical going on.

and to Beth G...there actually ARE medications that can help. If you don't know what you are talking about then mind your own business.|||urology but there is really not much u can do for bedwetting|||dont take him to a doctor. just feed him dry foods before he goes to bed. Saltines usually work best.|||Most children who wet the bed stop on their own when they are around 13. There isn't really a lot you can do about it. Five of my siblings wet the bed, only one had a problem that required a doctor. If you are really concerned about it being a medical problem, see the pedatrician first. They will probably refer you to a urologist if they think it's necessary.

Otherwise, you can invest in a plastic sheet to go over the mattress and wash the sheets whenever necessary. Don't make a big deal out of it to your child because it just causes them frustration and depression about something that they have no control over.|||My son sees a Specialist in Pediatric Sleep Medicine for Sleep Apnea and they also treat bedwetting. They have various non medicinal ways as well as meds that can help. Hope this helps!|||Urologist|||you take him to your normal doc and they will do some tests for you or will recommend another doc to see if there is anything wrong if there isn't then cut him off from liquids about two hours before bed. you could also try to find something to reward him with if he stays dry. it could be cheap toys that he could pick out of a bag in the morning or you could make it something bigger like a trip to a restaurant or an overnight with a friend?|||i dont think theres anything you can do for that, its more of trianing the kid i would think. im not totally sure though i dont have kids|||What do you expect a doctor to do? Give him some magic pills to make him stop?|||he has a muscle problem there is a small muscle that holds it back till you are ready to release it, just have him start going and then stop the stream and then go again each time he goes, this will make the muscle stronger, it should a least slow down the problem---ugru|||i bed wet forever, medication isnt 100% effective, but besides medication, there isnt really much you can do to prevent it. (besides less water etc. before bed).

i actually stopped when i was 12 O_o.|||just went through this myself, start with the pediatrician and ask for a referral to a urologist. come to find out my son has tightening in the urethra muscle. They fixed it and since hasn't had any issues. the main reason he had them to begin with was because he was not able to fully empty his bladder. From experience i will tell you you will NOT get into see a specialist anywhere unless you have a referral from a pediatrician family doc or ER|||I wouldn't go to a Children's Hospital if I were you. When I was young, I used to wet the bed. My mother took me to the Children's Hospital and they gave me a treatment that put me through lots of pain and really didn't do anything to help the bed-wetting.

I went to my family doctor and she gave me two options. One was to wear an alarm on a leg and it would wake up the child to go the bathroom. The other was to take a pill before bed. It depends on how high the dosage is. I started them late, so I had to take 3 pills a night. They are tiny pills, so you wouldn't have to worry about swallowing problems.|||Why would you need too? You sound like an overconcered parent. My sister and my friend both wet the bed at night. They are 11 and 13.|||I would start with a pediatrician. They can do the workup and determine if it is a urological, neurological, or behavioral problem and refer you if necessary.

Some insurance plans require you to see a primary care provider before seeing a specialist.

I am a RN.|||start with his pediatrician who may refer you to a specialist.

What type of doctor is most needed for volunteer type work?

I am wanting to be a doctor. The main reason is not because I want to make a lot of money. My main reason is that it will give me the opportunity to help people. I want to know what type of doctor is needed the most in the world for service?|||It depends on where you go! No matter what you decide to specialize in, you'll be able to help out if you put time into doing a little research into the various organizations out there. However, I'll list a couple specialties off the top of my head and give examples what they can do.

Orthopedic surgery: trauma broken bones, congenital skeletal problems, etc.

General surgery: general trauma, primarily abdominal

Family doctors: on the ground providing triage and primary care

How do I find a doctor to prescribe antidepressants?

I am depressed and I wish to seek help for it. However, I have no idea where to start. How do I find such a doctor? What kind of doctor would I go to? Can a psychiatrist prescribe these kinds of things? Can a psychologist? Can a therapist? Is there somewhere online I can find a list of these kinds of doctors in my area?|||Most primary physicians (and that can be a person with an MD or DO) are familiar with the basic symptoms of depression and the options for prescriptions. In fact, antidepressants are one of the most frequently prescribed classes of drugs. Certainly a psychiatrist is going to be able to prescribe and he or she has the added advantage of expertise with diagnosis and treatment. Some psychiatrists do psychotherapy while others would refer to a psychologist or other therapist. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners can prescribe antidepressants in many states. Psychologists can prescribe medication in very few states (New Mexico, Louisiana). Antidepressants are very likely to help your depression, but you really should consider the addition of psychological therapy because it increases the probability of success but most importantly decreases the probability of relapse after improvement. You can find a list of mental health practitioners usually by calling your insurance to see who is on their "panel" or network. Your primary doctor might also have someone he or she trusts. Usually the state association has a list of practitioners. It helps to get the recommendation for a doctor from someone you trust. In my opinion, you should only receive therapy from a licensed and credentialed therapist because they have passed exams and met criteria for practice and additionally they have insurance in the unlikely case that they cause harm or do something that causes harm. There are multiple proven therapies for depression ranging from cognitive therapy to interpersonal therapy and the pharmacological options range from older tricyclic antidepressants like Elavil to newer SNRI medications like Cymbalta. In my opinion, most have about equal effectiveness but they differ in terms of duration to onset of action (2 to 8 weeks) and side effects. Usually side effects are mild, but these can range from dry mouth and constipation all the way up to agitation and racing thoughts or actual allergic reactions. If you get side effects, then your doctor will change the medication.|||You can ask your regular adult doctor OR I suggest visiting a psychiatrist (they are MDs who can prescribe antidepressants and you talk to them about your feelings. Dont go to a psychologist because they cant prescribe meds)

What type of doctor do i go to to diagnose my mental health?

I've been having symptoms of what i believe is schizophrenia or maybe its just terrible anxiety??

Anyway its been like this for years and im sick of living in denial. I've tried counseling on and off and it does absolutely nothing for me. I'm ready to try the medication route im just having trouble understanding which doctor i need to call and make an appointment with, can i call just a regular doctor or does it need to be someone who specializes in something specific?|||You will need a psychologist. Yea they might give you medication, but it never works. I get anxiety out of nowhere. Anxiety is all in your head and you can control it.|||Diagnostic criteria for Schizophrenia

Having (2) or more of the following, present during a 1-month period

(1) delusions

(2) hallucinations

(3) disorganized speech (incoherence)

(4) grossly disorganized or catatonic (lack of responsiveness) behavior

(5) negative symptoms (lack of emotion, speech, response)

DSM-IV Symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD):

Have at least (3) symptoms for at least (6) months

-Excessive anxiety %26amp; worry

-Difficulty controlling the worry

-Restlessness or feeling keyed-up or on edge

-Easily fatigued

-Difficulty concentrating, mind goes blank

-Irritability

-Muscle tension

-Sleep disturbance

A psychiatrist (can also prescribe medication), psychologist, and mental health professional is qualified to diagnose your mental health condition and give professional recommendations to you.

Treatment Options:

Counseling will help gain insight in your symptoms. Intensive outpatient counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation program, group therapy, or joining a support group may beneficial.|||you can see a psychologist or a psychiatrist

You could just go to your regular dr and tell him what you have written here and he MAY give you some medication and/ or refer you to one of the other dr's. Or you can just seek one out on your own. Another option is to call the mental health agency in your town and see what they suggest.

Whatever you decide, good luck to you|||try a psychiatrist. they can prescribe medication but get one that comes highly recommended. good for you for taking the initiative and getting help.|||see an ordinary doc, shrinks would prescribe the same meds but waste time and seldom help much|||Hi there,

To [sparklyvixen] - Who said... "try a psychiatrist. they can prescribe medication but get one that comes highly recommended. good for you for taking the initiative and getting help."

...Top answer hunny. Straight to the point!

To [Lil T Ayee!] - Who said... "You will need a psychologist. Yea they might give you medication, but it never works. I get anxiety out of nowhere. Anxiety is all in your head and you can control it."

...A Psychologist is NOT allowed to diagnose, only offer their opinion to the Psychiatrist. They also cannot prescribe Med's. Again, only a Psychiatrist/Doctor can do this. And when you say "..but it never works." You can only speak on behalf of YOURSELF, NOBODY else because what doesn't work for one may work wonders for another. For example, my Med's work fantastically well for me, thank you very much. Maybe you haven't gone down the road yet of trying several until you find 'The One'. That's what I had to do.

Oh and not all people can control their anxiety. It can totally shadow you sometimes hence why people have Panic Attacks. Often it needs a powerful Med like Benzodiazepines such as Lorazepam to control it. I take Lorazepam and I wouldn't give them up for a gold bullion bar!

To [Asker] - There is a posibility that you have Paranoid Schizophrenia, Delusional Disorder or BorderLine Personality Disorder.. It would need to be an actual Psychiatrist who would diagnose you.

I personally think that there are certain 'People' on Earth that were selected to be 'Special'. Some have talents, some have powers. We are then labelled as a Schizophrenic with "..Bizarre and usual thoughts". It is merely a word to cover up the truth.

So if you are asking me if I think you should have this 'Label' then the answer is Yes. But I don't believe that you have a Mental Disease as the Psychiatrist would put it. I believe you are on a 'Higher Plane' like me. You experience things on a much more sensitive scale than others would.

I will tell you something.. We are ALL being watched. Deep somewhere within the Universe (and there are multiple Universes so I refer to *OUR* Universe) Extraterrestrial Inhabitants and other Transcendental Beings are gazing upon us Hominoid's from millions of miles away. (Technically I shouldn't include myself in that as I personally am not of this world. I am UnEarthly. I am Celestial. I was sent from another World to save Earth.

We are not 'Crazy' OR 'Delusional' but many will tell you we are. Tell me this... Are Clairvoyants/Mediums/Psychics branded as "Schizo's" or "Fruit Loops"? The answer is "No". So when other people (who have a 'Higher Purpose' in life) let others know then they get chasracterised "Schizophrenics". A Psychiatrist says "You have Schizophrenia" just because some people can see factualism. A Psychiatrist says "You have Bi-Polar" just because some people can experience infallibility and esoteric encounters whilst under 'Mania'.

My point is, you obviously have a Purpose. You are 'Special' my lovely. You need to find out what your function is like I found out mine. You may even learn that you have powers. For example, I have the power to speak to the dead and to animals. I also have the power to see other Dimensions of space through my dreams. On occasion, I have been able to control the weather but this has only been a short term power given to me on a privelidge basis by Satan to prove how mighty he is. He doesn't suffer fools gladly and nothing is for nothing with him. I know him. He brought me back from the void. He helped me to swim from my dispair where others let me drown.

The only GOOD thing about the labeling of this "Severe Mental Disorder" is that if you are in U.K you can claim Disability Living Allowance and if in U.S.A you can claim S.S.D.

It isn't easy baring so much responsibility on your shoulders. Once you find your task you will feel re-born!

And there are many like us, confused and dazed. Sad and alone. If only I could gather up ALL the "Schizo's", "Polars", "PD's", etc.. and tell them that they are NOT crazy. They are like this because they are Unique, Special and Extraordinary beings. Some may me Humanoid, some may be OtherWorldly. They all have a Purpose. A Quest for life. They need to find out what it is. So do you. Then you will find peace. You will find clues along the way.

Take care.

What will my doctor do when she sees the cuts?

I have been putting off going to the doctor for some time now because I am a cutter. It is quite obvious that some of my cuts are recent (within the past couple months) and I was wondering what a doctor is supposed to do when they see that type of a thing. I am a legal adult so I don't have to worry about parental things at all.|||Probably be a concerned doctor and ask your reasons for doing it, ask/look for signs of depression, maybe anxiety as well, give you a big ol' boring lecture on how meaningful life is and that you could handle your problems a different way(if that's your reasons for cutting) And depending on the bond you and your doctor have probably have you consider going to see a counselor. She can't obligate you to do anything you don't want though.|||First - Green - youa are NOT a 'cutter', you are a person that needs some help to understand that there are much better ways to live than cutting yourself. Cutting yourself is only one way to be. There are many others, better ones.

The Doctor is going to talk to you and find out - from yourself - why is that you believe you have to "cut" yourself. He will help you to reason the good side and the bad sides of this behaviour.|||I'm pretty sure they won't do anything, unless you appear suicidal to them. I am a cutter too, and I'm positive my doctor has seen mine, and hasn't said or done anything. I'm underage, but I think they only care about the topic at hand.|||Seriously, there's no reason to even cut yourself. Everyone has problems and your just dealing with it in a unhealthy way. Just think about it.

How can I make a doctor's apointment somewhere without telling my parents?

I'm 21, I need to go to the doctor's like NOW. I am on my parents' insurance but I cannot let them know about this doctor's visit, and I'm also kinda broke. What do I do? Call different doctors' offices to see if they take my insurance? Will I still have to pay some even if they do take it? And will my parents see it on the insurance?|||As long as you are medicinally covered by their insurance (make sure you check with the clinic or office of choice) then no you should not have to pay a cent AND any visit you have with the doctor is 100% confidential. They cannot disclose any information to anyone about your visits etc, even family, without your consent, and even then I think YOU have to tell them. It's part of the Hippocratic oath.

Just call up the nearest walk-in clinic or a medical office that you know your parents go to and ask them if you are covered by the insurance you have and make an appointment. I wouldnt worry about your parents knowing about it, it will not show up on the insurance as YOU HAD AN APPT, it will just show as norm that you are covered.

It's important to go to the doctor for checkups etc. Just make a few calls and your on your way.

hope that helps!|||IF SHE USES HER PARENTS INSURANCE HER VISIT WILL SHOW UP ON THE BILL THAT IS MAILED TO HER PARENTS.(ITS USUALLY A TELL ALL) AND THOUGH SHE DOESNT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE DOCTORS TELLING HER PARENTS WHAT THE VISIT WAS FOR BECAUSE OF THE BILL IM SURE THEY WILL ASK.PREGGO? TRY PLANNED PARENTHOOD.

|||Why do you need to be seen? I would assume a private matter you don't want talked about. You are over 18 so any visit details will be private, but they will still get a bill. Details may be listed on the bill or they may not. You would have to talk to the billing department at each clinic.

If you have concerns for private issue related to sexual health you can find a clinic in most big cities that will see you such as planned parenthood etc.

You could go to a free clinic and show proof of income and they can offer you care at free or cheap. It would be something to think about as well.

Also, you could do an urgent care or emergency room. All clinics and hospitals that are part of larger public systems like universities or counties will give you a break, set up a payment plan etc so you don't have to pay upfront or all at once.

If you are 21 and feel like you can't talk to your parents about adult matters, you should rethink this. It isn't healthy at 21 to be afraid to tell your parents the truth about your health needs. If you are needing adult care because of adult acts you may be engaged in, then you need to be adult about your healthcare needs.

Good luck!|||If you use your parents' insurance, they will *for sure* see evidence of a doctor's visit.

If your problem is gynecological...I'd highly recommend Planned Parenthood. They are confidential, reasonably priced, and cover the full range of women's health services.

Your only other option would be to pay cash at a walk in clinic...but usually you have to fill out paperwork giving your closest relative as an emergency contact.|||Since your above 21 you can technically go to the doctor and they can't legally say anything to your parents.

As for insurance, just be like you wanted to go for a physical or something and just lie to them .|||Either use the insurance or pay an office visit.|||as long as you tell your doctor you dont want your parents to find out he can not legally tell them without ur permission now on the other hand when the bills come in at the end of the month u may be in trouble|||Find someone you trust and let them take you..otherwise I don't know about the insurance part.

How to find a doctor to treat on a lien basis?

My gf was in an auto accident, and was not at fault. She also doesn't have insurance, health or auto. The other driver's insurance will eventually pay for medical, after a settlement has been reached. Her current doctor has stopped seeing her, primarily over payment. So now she has alot of pain, and no doctor. Every doctor's office I've spoken with is uncooperative when trying to get her in the door. What should we do?|||No|||Many cities have free clinics that provide basic services and also give referrals to Specialist which are free or reduced price but you have to show financial need.
